Hui whāinga - Goalsetting
Three times a year we invite whānau to join their tamaiti in a goalsetting discussion with our kaiako. The conferences are a 30 minute opportunity for our ākonga to share how they are going with their learning, what their goals are, how to overcome any challenges and what support they might need.
Kaiako are available during the day and after hours (by negotiation) for a hui whāinga. Hui can be held in person, on the telephone, online and with any support person that the whānau choose. This is a great opportunity to build a strong relationship with the Whānau Group Teacher who will be with your tamaiti for the whole time they are at Tamatea High School.
Ensuring each student has learning goals that connect to their overall pathway when they leave school is very important. It gives them a reason why to come to school. We strongly encourage whānau to find a way to participate in these hui - we'll bend over backwards to be accommodating!
Event booking details are forwarded home to whānau so please check your inbox to obtain these details or call the office if you have any queries.
