Te Tirohanga Whānui & Ngā Uara | Vision & Values

Our school vision is:

‘E tipu, e rea. Ka tipu koe hei tangata’

Which means ‘Growing good people for a changing world’. Our focus is on preparing our students for a meaningful and rewarding life.

We emphasise the skills, attitudes and qualifications that our graduates will need in the workplace or further study. Our students learn how to get along with others, to be coachable, respectful and employable.

We place as much value on this as achieving NCEA and University Entrance qualifications.

Our school PRIDE values are:

Kia whakauru -
participation.
Which means having a go and doing our best.

Kia whai aroha – respect.
We encourage everyone to speak nicely, care for each other and the environment.

Kia ngākau pono – integrity.
We expect everyone to be honest, take responsibility for what we say and do, even when no one is watching!

He kura kanorau – diversity.
We include and accept everyone so we all feel safe.

Kia tū angitu – excellence.
We all set challenging goals and strive to achieve them.

Our focus on these values helps us to make our vision a reality.
