FEE PAYING STUDENTS Rationale: This school is a signatory to the New Zealand Ministry of Education Code

Responsibilities of the School
Broad Guidelines
- We will:
• Provide a staff member who will be responsible for ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) programmes and the student’s welfare while attending our school
• Provide curriculum and educational delivery
• Provide ongoing counselling and support services for International students, including access to translation services
• Keep in close contact with homestay, teachers and parents, especially if a problem arises pertaining to the student at school
• Report regularly to the parents
• There are four main ways ESOL students are assisted (we usually use a combination of these):
Individual programmes - sometimes this includes preparation for NCEA examination or NZ Speech Board Exams
* Withdrawal from some mainstream classes to work in the Student Support Centre on an Individual computer programme called Successmaker.
* In-class support ,timetabled ESOL classes (individual or small group tuition)
• Hold in safe custody (if requested) - Student's passport
- Insurance and Medical policies
- Any other important documents, such as,travel documents.
NB: Pocket money can be administered through the school, either with a joint signature or an automatic weekly payment into the student’s account so as to monitor the student's spending. We suggest $30.00 to $50.00 per week as being plenty for general expenses and entertainment.

Any leisure/sporting activities which the student is involved in outside the control |
